From everything I'd heard, Amana sounded interesting.

I was less than impressed with what I saw, so I am substituting a few pictures here from Kelona, IA.
It looks like the Amish do use some motors - this looked like a dewatering pump.

I think Kelona, IA was by far more interesting than Amana but unfortunately it was a rainy, wet day.
Back to Amana.............must be something of interest around here. Just need to look a little harder.

This guy was probably 12-15 pounds.
The visit to Amana was actually good for something after all!

I did try a family style dinner in Amana and I ordered the catfish. It could not have been saltier even if they tried. The coleslaw was not bad and the mashed potatoes were ok but the rest...........
no comment.
